Scriptum Publishing

Emerging literary talent
Over the years, Scriptum has worked across all areas of the publishing industry and built upon its roots in translation, editing and marketing. Some of our company shareholders and many of our translators specialize in literary translation. Our passion for the written word, allied to a penchant for staying abreast of the latest trends in publishing in order to remain at the forefront of literary translating, make the people who constitute Scriptum indefatigable readers of the latest developments in literature. Through this ongoing interest, the company has served as an indirect promoter of new literary works and emerging authors.
The natural progression for this passionate interest in literature is a new venture that, though still in its infancy, is nevertheless both serious and ambitious: we are actively seeking new writing talent.
Send your Manuscript to Scriptum Edizioni
We are interested in reading unpublished novels or collections of short stories. Writers should send us the material and compile the form below.
All work must be accompanied by the author’s name and address, a brief biography, and a five to ten page presentation summarizing the work. We are happy to look at work submitted in Italian, English or French. There are no restrictions on topic or copy length.
On receipt of a manuscript, our editors will send out a message confirming arrival. If we receive more proposals than we can comfortably read, we will cease to accept new submissions until we have had time to go through all of the items we have received in chronological order. We will announce when the submissions process reopens on our website.
Scriptum endeavours to respond to all proposals within three months of receipt. Writers who submit works to us should be aware that if we decide not to publish a work, it is by no means a reflection on the value of the work per se. In cases where we wish to move ahead and publish, we pledge to give our utmost support through publication and beyond.
Authors of works selected for publication will be offered a publishing contract.
To ensure copyright protection, we advise all authors interested in sending their writing to us to officially register their work with a writers’ organization or guild prior to sending it in.
